On Sunday the 13th of May 2018 Newmains Hammers AFC and the wider community were stunned to learn of the tragic passing of a beloved team-mate, friend, brother and son to those around him. Stephen was only 19.

Stephen's death was a painful reminder of how delicate life is and that behind every smile may be a different story.

In his short spell with the club we were to discover a charming, witty and genuinely heartwarming young man who sadly we can no longer create more memories with.

As we mourn his passing we all look to inspire to be like Stephen, a positive influence on our team-mates and to all those around us.

Stephen was loved and will always be loved by us and all of those close to him.

This is why we ask for your support to help us support Stephen's family in this time of need and not only that but to remind everyone that it is okay to talk. There is always someone to listen and understand.

Rest in peace Stephen. From all at the club. We will miss you greatly mate.
