Story

In Memory of a truly selfless and caring individual, Our Mum, Ann Moran

Mum was incredibly proud to have served our wonderful NHS for many years, and made many, many great friends within the trust. She would often amaze me on visits to the Royal as she would be greeted frequently by passers by, always stopping for a chat, but always beginning with “how are you?”

Mum would then begin to tell me all about the individual, their role, what department they worked in, who they worked with, how her path crossed with the individual, then how to get to their department from where we were (not that we needed to!) Mum would also tell me all about their relationship, Christmas Parties they had been to, their families etc………a true font of all knowledge and a person who cared so much about others.

Mum was a huge part of our lives naturally, she was a leader who would always be there for counsel, advice or a chit chat, an incredibly loving lady who saw the good qualities in everyone, doting over her Grandchildren and Family Bulldog Reggie!

Mum was a huge sports fan, playing an active role in ferrying her sons and husband to play football all over the country over the years, She held a season ticket at her beloved Derby County with Stephen and Grandaughter Jovi, and managed to see the glory years of the Rams in the 70’s with Husband Phil on many, many occasions, how many people can say ’I was there’ when the Rams beat the mighty Real Madrid on a boggy baseball ground pitch!

Mums parting wish was to support the unit who cared for her tremendously in her final days, hours and minutes, Ward 2 at the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, London Road, Derby and the wonderful Brassington St James Church which continues to provide a great service to the community of Brassington, Home, which Mum loved so, so much.

God bless you Mum, you touched so many lives and so many positive ways xxx
