Tees Valley Education is a Multi-Academy Trust and sponsor, currently made up of three academies across Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland: Pennyman Primary Academy, Brambles Primary Academy and Dormanstown Primary Academy.

All three academies are situated in areas of deprivation with a significant level of poverty. Brambles and Pennyman are in Middlesbrough, the sixth most deprived LA in the country and Dormanstown is included in the lowest 10%.

Children get an outstanding provision and a very good education overall at Tees Valley Education. We passionately believe life it is about a whole range of experiences and opportunities, particularly the performing arts. They engender a sense of confidence and pride in both our children and communities as well as supporting the development of children’s self-esteem, wellbeing and inclusion. These experiences and opportunities are vital to them being able to mature into local, national and global citizens who can contribute to the regeneration and strengthening of our future communities and economy.

On Monday 11th June 2018 choirs from across the Trust are travelling to perform at the Royal Festival Hall in London. In addition to ourselves, there will be more than 200 children from other local schools and academies performing on the day.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity for our children, giving them a rare chance to perform on stage at a world-class venue with an audience of over 800 people.
As well as the Royal Festival Hall, the children will visit many landmarks in London, something they have never had the opportunity to do before.

In order to support this trip, and future opportunities and experiences for our children, I am running on behalf of TVED, from Middlesbrough to London. Running approximately 40 miles a day, I will leave Middlesbrough on Monday 4th June and meet the children in London for their performance.
