In the past six years Stephen has suffered a never ending list of health problems. It started with a rare spinal injury, Cauda Equina Syndrome. Following surgery this left him with severely restricted Mobility, bilateral foot drop and incontinence of both bladder and bowel. To help with this he had to have surgery to form a colostomy and have an indwelling catheter and following this, three weeks later suffered a DVR and a blood clot in the Lung. By this time he became, and still is, very depressed having lost his Mobility, could not return to work and had to give up driving. Last year he had to have his gall bladder removed, following this he suffered a second blood clot in his lungs and now has to be on warfarin for life. He has to take a lot of medication to help with neuropathic pain. In the last eight months he was first diagnosed as having IBS and a few weeks ago was also told he has Addison's disease, an autoimmune condition which is destroying part of his adrenal glands. He has to take steroids for life to manage this condition and if he has a crisis it can be critical. His Mobility means he cannot walk and has difficulty using public transport locally due to buses only having one wheelchair space. He would really like to get out and about more and so needs a scooter with a long range and is reliable to enable him to travel around try to take up his liking for wildlife photography. Please help him to achieve this goal and give him meaning to life.
