Story

Hi and high 5 to the poverty fighters. Please read and share far and wide so people get the opportunity to give if they want to. The Scottish Government is awarding a one-off payment to Scotland’s lifesavers and care-givers working on the frontline throughout the coronavirus pandemic. I work in ICU in Aberdeen Royal infirmary and will be one of the many people receiving this payment. Speaking with many of my colleagues we thought it would be good to share our payment with local people who are struggling. Working through Covid has been tough but not as tough as trying to support yourself and or your family when you have no or little work and are currently experiencing poverty. It's not that we don't appreciate our payment we'd just like to share it. If like us, you have been awarded this payment or you've some spare cash and would like to share some or all of it in support of people experiencing poverty, please donate here. Our two chosen charities are:
“CFINE who have worked throughout the pandemic improving health and well-being and the environment, tackles poverty and builds resilience through a range of support and services for and with disadvantaged, vulnerable, low-income individuals, families and communities in NE Scotland.
AberNecessities is a local, non-profit charity with the aim of supporting underprivileged families in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.Their core team has continued to support families throughout the pandemic. Providing families with the essential items they need to care for their babies and children, helping alleviate the pressure of bringing up a young family with extremely limited resources.
