    Story

Stephen is sadly deteriorating on his journey with dementia and we are trying to support him with dignified end-of-life care, support and joy.

We are reaching out with love and hope at this very difficult time to raise funds to help support Stephen and offer him a glimmer of well-deserved joy and comfort as he navigates the torturous path of late-stage dementia. Our ambition is to spoil Stephen with some basic necessities which will make all the difference to him and to his challenging existence.

These things include a specialized dementia bed and rocking chair. Equally important and beneficial and would be life-changing for him to receive one-to-one support, such as accompanied walks, drives out into West Yorkshire countryside {which he still adores], along with leg and foot massages. These are simple pleasures most of us take for granted but sadly missing in Stephen's life so we'd like to change that.

We would also love to offer occasional live music evenings for all residents to enjoy at the care home.

He has had a turbulent experience within the care system. Stephen still has high levels of physical fitness which has been suppressed by both his mental state and the restricted care most care homes offer. He still loves to kick a football and be outside, sadly things he cannot do alone.

By raising funds and offering Stephen the opportunity to live a little better life, while his brain and body signals are slowly closing down, will indeed bring him great comfort and be of huge benefit to him.

We thank you all for your concerns, love, and support in advance.

I only knew Steve for a short time but he signed me as a 16 year old & had a massive influence on the person I am today. There aren't enough words to describe how great a person he is. Best wishes.
