Story
Imagine that you're 60 years old. You've played local football for all your life and now love doing 5-a-side when you aren't busy with family life. Works good. Recently married; you've the love of your life by your side. But then in one moment, everything changed due to a suspected stroke...
7 years ago, Nigel and Mandy Harding began their life together in their home in Waltham, Grimsby. Their first Christmas beckoned. Nigel in pain from Christmas Eve ignored it for that Christmas. But when New Years Eve arrived he had no choice but to go to A&E. It was thought to be a stroke, but in Scunthorpe he was quickly diagnosed and a call was made to get him to Hull and an operation was scheduled to take place. A cyst at the top of his spine was found and it was the intention to remove it, but the cyst burst, and dormant poison began to leak down his spine, killing every nerve and causing a paralysis over night from the neck down.
7 years on, and learning to live with what happened on that New Years Day, a holiday is much needed for Nigel Harding and his wife Mandy, a shining star like no other. Never once through all the hospital visits did she leave his side. And she has since stood by and cared for him. Yes, a holiday is much needed, and Nigel won't mind me saying this but it's more about Mandy on this occasion. Because of Nigel's condition, only 3 places in the UK can take them, and the lovely coastal town of Southport is one of them. That's the destination.
The aim is to raise £5000 for the week's holiday which is required because of the dedicated care Nigel needs whilst he is away. What Nigel wants is to be there and be totally looked after. Then Mandy can take that walk, breath the sea air, and take some time to recharge and refresh. Nigel's only wish is to give some normality for his wife. With the help of friends, family, and whoever else reads these words, it is our ambition that Nigel's and Mandy's wish can be granted.

Below is our walking route. The journey will take 50 miles and will be undertaken over a course of three days.

My son and I will be undertaking this together for Nigel and Mandy. Daisy will remain at home. Wish us luck and please support this fundraising event. Thank you
Happy Days, This is my opportunity to say a massive thank you on behalf of Nigel and Mandy Harding, for your generosity and understanding of their need just to touch base with reality and have a holiday. That they did and it was absolutely everything it said it would be on the tin. Give yourselves a massive pat on the back you made this happen, you are indeed the finest of people. I know both of these holiday makers would like to say Thank you so very, very much it was perfect. Thank you all
