Stephen Harte was a person who stammered. From his childhood through to his adult years, Stephen’s stammering profoundly affected every part of his life.

Following numerous years of struggle and failed therapies, Stephen found the McGuire Programme, a unique treatment approach which combines intensive courses and long-term follow up support. Stephen benefitted greatly from this approach. He gained control over his speech, a new lease of life, and in time he became a widely respected coach and course instructor on the Programme.

From 2000 through to his untimely passing in 2018, Stephen was a shining example of a person overcoming the adversity of stammering and inspiring others to do the same.

To honour Stephen’s journey, his example, and his wish that others receive the help and support that he received, we have set up a scholarship fund in Stephen’s name.

Your donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully received and will be used to help people who stammer in need of financial assistance access the McGuire Programme.
