I'm raising £6500 to Invest in Young Talent – Help Our Steel Pan Band Reach Barbados

Organised by Stepney All Saints School
London ·Schools and education

Story

Stepney All Saints Church of England Secondary School is raising funds to support our talented Steel Pan students in travelling to Barbados to explore the country, its heritage, and the cultural roots of steel pan music.

Our Steel Pan band is a source of immense pride for our school. The students have been performing across London, showcasing their talent at community events, school celebrations, and cultural programmes. Their dedication, discipline, and musical excellence have earned them recognition and praise, and they are actively performing to help raise funds for this trip.

However, we still need your support to make this life-changing opportunity possible.

This visit to Barbados is about far more than travel. It is about:

- Connecting with the heritage of steel pan music

- Working with local musicians and experiencing authentic Caribbean culture

- Deepening their understanding of history, identity, and global citizenship

- Building confidence, aspiration, and life experience

For many of our students, this would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and for some, it may be their first time travelling abroad. We are determined that financial circumstances should not prevent any student from taking part.

The school is also contributing towards the cost of the trip, and the students are actively fundraising through performances and events. However, additional financial support is required to cover:

- Educational workshops and cultural visits

- Performance opportunities

- Equipment transport

We have developed a full plan for the visit, outlining the educational and cultural programme for the trip (please see details below).

Every donation, regardless of size, will make a meaningful difference. By contributing, you are investing in young people’s talent, cultural understanding, and future aspirations.

Thank you for supporting our Steel Pan band and helping us turn this ambition into reality. 🎶
