Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
I am trying hard to get fitter and thinner so I thought I'd do a month of steps challenge to add a little bit to The Wedding March fundraiser ( please see link in title and why below).
Considered 10,000 but that's easy to achieve when you walk a dog every day and walk a load to get to work and back
Considered 15,000 but I don't think that will be achievable in the week and I do have stuff like kids to feed, housework to do, jobs to turn up for....
So I'm going for 12,500 cos according to google that means I am 'very active'. I've always wanted to be very active so I will be everyday in May
I'm not going to kill myself every day so if I miss it occasionally( as I have the 1st 2 days of May - good start!) I'll play catch up within the week( tonight I have an extra 5 thou steps to do).
So sponsor me a few pennies cos pennies makes pounds and the wedding fund needs about 500 more to reach its target.
In April me, my partner and 3 of my kids went to Borneo for my niece Katies wedding to Lim. Katie works in Borneo as a Vet for IAPWA Neutering and helping stray dogs and cats, of which Sabah, Borneo. has many! They are literally everywhere and many are not in good nick - very few are neutered!
As part of the wedding celebrations my daughter Sally joined all her cousins, her auntie and 2 uncles, bridegroom, best man, bridesmaids and family friend Martyn in climbing Mount Kinabalu to raise money for Katie's charity so they can afford a voluntary vet for a year.
They did it ! They're amazing! They went up all enthusiastic and excited and came back knackered and shocked and mostly unable to walk :D. My sister had knees like footballs, a number had to get off the top quick cos of Altitude sickness, most say they will NEVER attempt it again, they all agree they now understand why its called the climb from HELL.
But..still...I'm jealous! I wanted to do it but I knew 1. I wasn't fit enough and 2. My little clubbed foot is just too erratic and just isn't stable enough anymore to cope with that sort of long climb.
So I stayed sunbathing by the pool.... sigh
However I'd like to do my bit so....
P.S done this as a crowdfunder as is only way to add it direct to Katies fundraiser
