Story
We've had a lot of people asking about funeral arrangements. Steve hated being the centre of attention and didn't want a funeral. We know that there are people far and wide who would like to pay their respects so we have set up a Just Giving page in Steve's memory to raise money for Cumbria Overseas Aid Trust, a cause dear to his heart.
Cumbria Overseas Aid Trust (COAT) is a well known charity that has been going strong now for over three decades. It is a small Cumbrian based charity that uses all money donated to the trust towards helping others. Over the past years the charity has continued to support projects and communities in some of the poorest regions of the world. Projects this year include:
Because All Children Matter (BACM) to provide porridge for school lunches for children in Kenya.
The Martin Academy in Chiwembe, Malawi, to enable desks to be made for the classrooms at El Shaddai school
Saltergate Children’s Home, Ethiopia poultry project. This will contribute to the lease of land, buying chickens and feed. Proceeds from the poultry project will go towards the food, clothing, accommodation, healthcare, education and support to independence of the families they support.
