    Story

We as a club are devastated by the loss of Mr Scholes himself, Ian Lewis, it came as a great shock to us all and will be deeply missed by all that knew him and especially Annette and everyone at Scholes CC, The work this guy did for our club is irreplaceable , He did everything you could imagine, ground work, repairs to the ground and facilities, organisation of meetings, our secretary and league representative... all in all Ian did everything.... He wasn't only our secretary, but more importantly , he was our friend, He brought the youngsters through and spend endless hours coaching them to become better cricketers, Ian himself was a mighty fine cricketer, who was Mr reliable at No.4, also a bowler you could always turn to if we needed a breakthrough , Ian and Annette had a 5 year plan for this club, I think now we are in the 13th or 14th year of this...... but the one thing he always wanted to do was complete the pavilion and bar area and sort out the shower facilities for the club, he was well on track to do this, So we, as a club think it would be a fitting tribute to such a wonderful man if , in his memory, we could complete these projects, One of our players, Michael Eccles has volunteered to run the Sheffield 10K in memory of Ian and to help raise money to complete the projects that Ian was so passionate about, Please show us, and more importantly Ian your support in sponsoring Michael in the Sheffield 10K, every contribution will be greatly received by us as club, and help Ian's Legacy live on...
R.I.P Ian Lewis, you will be greatly missed by everyone that knew you and with this , Hopefully will can fulfil your ambition for the club, and you will still; always be part of the club you loved...

I've know Ian for 24 years since first playing against him as a 17 year old, Ian tried for 10 years to get me to join Scholes and succeeded 3 years ago, I became really good friends with Ian both on and off the field , I am now 1st team captain and will miss the guy immensely
