Story

My name is Steve Lamb.
I never imagined I’d be here asking for help, but life has changed overnight.
I’m a husband of 24 years and a proud dad of four incredible children. Our eldest is 23 and studying to become an occupational therapist. Our daughter is 16 and sitting her GCSEs. My two youngest boys, aged 8 and 10, are still full of energy, plans and big dreams.
I served 24 years in the British Army with REME before retraining as a nurse. I qualified in 2024 and began working as a Critical Care Nurse in ICU — a role I loved and felt proud to hold.
In December 2025, after weeks of severe headaches and a sudden seizure, a scan revealed a 4cm tumour in my right temporal lobe. Two craniotomies removed 98–99% of it, but the diagnosis was confirmed: Grade 4 Glioblastoma wild type un-methylated.
Glioblastoma is aggressive and incurable. Standard treatment in the UK is surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but when it returns, options are limited.
I’m raising £75,000 to access additional treatments abroad, including personalised vaccine therapy in Germany and CAR-T therapy in Israel — giving myself the best possible chance alongside NHS care.
All I want is time.
Time to watch my youngest boys grow up.
Time to be there for my daughter.
Time with my wife.
If you can donate or share, it truly means everything.
Thank you.
