Hello everyone, my name is Steve and i am 34 from Gloucestershire in England. I live with my lovely wife Emma and our Beautiful 11yr old daughter Faith. I have suffered with depression and Bipolar all of my life and left it in treated up until July 23 2011. This is when i was at my lowest and did the most unthinkable thing to myself. I took a 8inch kitchen knife and stabbed myself in the abdomen. I was rushed into Hospital, the knife had pierced my bowl and i had septicaemia (blood poisoning) all of my organs began to shutdown and 2weeks into me being in intensive care, my wife was told to gather my family as it was more than likely the last time they would be able to see me. 10 ops later i am sooo glad to say that i turned a huge corner and my body began to heal and this is when o started Facing up to my problems(i lost both of my parents to cancer by the age of 15) and trying to deal with life and living with bipolar. I have never been more happy and content than i am now but there is a few things hanging over me. The only place to get the life saving hernia treatment that i need is in the U.S,A and this was told to me by a specialist in hernias at Gloucester Royal Hospital. I cant get a job as i am classed as disabled in England so the chances of me being able to raise the kind of money that's needed for this treatment is very very slim, i am still trying... If i don't get these Hernias treated ASAP my GP said that they would continue to grow and eventually strangulate, after really pushing him to tell me how long could i expect to live he told me that i would be very lucky indeed to reach 50. Obviously this scares me and my family a lot and I'm really unsure about what the future holds
