Story
This JustGiving page celebrates the life of Steve Moir, a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend to so many people. Steve passed away tragically in September 2018 and yet the lasting impact he had on his family, friends and colleagues will remain for all time.
In addition to his devotion and commitment to his dear family, Steve was passionate about football and he fully recognised the benefit to young people of being involved in competitive sport and learning how to perform as part of a team. This was very apparent in the commitment he showed to Sawston United Youth Football Club.

Steve was with Sawston for 16 years: he managed teams from under 7s to under 16s, was company treasurer, and all three of his sons – Callum, Liam and Owen – played for the club. In recent years, Steve had become particularly involved in encouraging young players to try Futsal (a modified form of soccer, typically played indoors with five players per side).
Steve’s family and the club have requested that money raised in his memory be used for the promotion of Friday evening Futsal sessions. Steve clearly saw what involvement in sport could do to engage young people, to help develop collaborative skills and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
