While most people woke up on New Year's Day, ready to begin a new year full of hopes and resolutions, four families grieved over the horrendous crimes of senseless knives that took place during the festive period in London. A family, in particular, is very close to us.Steve Narvaez Jara, aged 20 was fatally stabbed just after midnight on New Years Day at a house party in East London.

He was an aspiring pilot and was one step closer to achieving his dream by studying Physics & Aerospace at the University of Hertfordshire. He was passionate about music as well as football. A young man who was loved amongst his family and peers and as the Ecuadorian young man he was, he was full of life and loved a great party.

He left behind a loving mother, father, and three younger sisters. All money raised will help contribute to this his funeral.

Knife crime is a regular occurrence in London, and the effect it has on victims and the victims’ families and the community is damaging. It is sad to see it is most rife among young people especially when it is someone close to you.
