I’m raising £12k for Being Neighbourly and the East Grinstead Trishaw Project by embarking on an EPIC 82-mile bike ride around Sussex on 29 April 2025.

As Mayor of East Grinstead, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible power of community—and how something simple, like a bike ride, can mean the world to someone who can’t do it for themselves.

Being Neighbourly is a local charity that connects volunteers with residents who need a helping hand or a friendly face. As part of my Mayoral year, I’m fundraising for a Community Trishaw—a specially adapted three-wheeled bike that brings the joy of cycling to people of all ages and abilities.

With volunteer pilots at the back and a comfortable two-seater passenger pod at the front, the Trishaw is more than just a bike—it’s a lifeline. It gives people who may be isolated, living with dementia, or no longer mobile the chance to get outdoors, enjoy some fresh air, and reconnect with the town they love.

For the passengers, it's a moment of freedom, fun, and fresh perspective. For the pilots, it's a chance to give something truly meaningful—a shared smile, a conversation, a memory made.
