James Weeks is an up and coming UK based Mountain Bike Downhill racer. In 2023 James raced for Katy Curd Coaching at part of the youth development squad in conjunction with Privateer Bikes. He's currently 15 years old and racing in the Youth cat of racing within the British Cycling structure. James raced in National DH and Regional DH races for the team as well as racing in 'Enduro' races as part of the development squad.

In 2024 the main aim of racing is to reach a standard that will enable James (@weeksy08 instagram) to reach international and world cup levels in the coming years. Both of these series bring together not only the best in their respective countries, but the best in Europe and will go towards scoring UCI points in the future (which enable racers to race at World Cup events). With that in mind James is racing a full season of UK National DH races, along with Pearce and gravity events to give maximum exposure to all levels of racing and technicality of tracks.

The costs associated to this span into the many thousands with even a pair of tyres costing £150 these days along with obviously the other associated costs of becoming a high level DH race in terms of parts, kit, living costs, fuel, tunnel, ferries, etc etc.

The target has been set at £2000 which would enable James to participate and attend the French DH Cup race and 1 maybe 2 IXS races in Europe.

Just a something to note, James has an active and excellent social media presence and would happily 'tag' and post for companies, but if you're a private individual then the best we can offer really is a massive THANK YOU.

If you wish to donate funds for specific items we're more than happy to do that and can provide / show the invoices for the items purchased after the specific dates. Things from a chain would cost £20, with tyres at £50-75, etc etc.

He/we are exceptionally fortunate that in 2023 we were given a LOT by various sponsors, from DMR, TFTuned, Crankbrothers, Saddleback clothing, mudhugger.

In 2023 James progressed massively with help in spades from Katy Curd his coach and went from a mid-pack racer to a front of the bunch racer. Moving up time and time again and ahead of the rivals who would once beat him.

He picked up a number of podiums in 2022 and 2023 and with a bit of hope and luck, will be doing the same in 2024. In his last 5 races he managed a top6 in 4 of them, only failing at Antur Stiniog in a National DH race.

2024 marks his 2nd year as a Youth Racer, at his sort of age the 1 or 2 years age difference can make a huge difference in terms of strength, experience etc as teenagers grow and develop into adults. We are hoping for lots of results in 2024 but more importantly lots of fun and experiences
