Story
Steve’s passion in life was watching live sport, particularly at a grass roots, amateur level where he thrived on being part of the enthusiasm of both the players and supporters. His love of cricket grew when his grandson, Harry, took up the sport a number of years ago. Steve attended numerous youth and adult matches, became a season ticket holder at the Essex County Ground and even took part in a charity game himself a few years ago. He was at his happiest when he was sat in the summer sun for the afternoon watching a good game of cricket. Therefore we think it is fitting that, instead of flowers for his funeral, we ask for donations towards a memorial bench in his honour that Galleywood CC have kindly agreed will reside in their grounds. This will give the future generations of parents, grandparents and supporters a place to sit and enjoy their loved ones playing cricket just as he did.
