Story

Life After Cancer Essex (LACE) is a cause dedicated to providing support and mindfulness to those affected by cancer throughout the south east. Following last years successful sponsored solo ride along the Grand Union canal (Birmingham to London) I have decided to solo cycle from Hunstanton (Norfolk) to Marks Hall (Essex) near Coggeshall.

The road route I am taking follows the East Anglian coast, as close as possible, totalling over 200 miles ending 28th Aug 2025 at Marks hall. This is where LACE had its very first official walk and talk group over 4 years ago. Marks Hall has supported LACE from the start with our members donating a commemorative bench in memory of my late wife and founder of LACE, Jo Hammond.

All monies raised will go towards future events for our members to have a rest bite from their ongoing treatment or personal cancer journey.

Cancer not only affects people’s health it has a major effect on the individuals mind. Therefore a short break from the trauma cancer brings does wonders to the mindfulness of the person. Please give generously to a worthy cause and play a part in giving people a well-deserved break
