I've raised £1000 to Hospice at Home Carlisle & Royal Marines Charity

Febuary 28th 2023 marks the 80th anniversary of the Norwegian Special Operations Executive (SOE) members skied over 200 miles across the Hardangervidda to successfully sabotage attack the heavy water production at the Vemont factory,Rjukan Norway during the Nazi’s occupation in 1943 preventing the Germans attempt to create an atomic bomb.
To recognise this historical event I will be retracing the steps of the heroes of telemark help raise awareness and raise funds for TWO Charities. Hospice at Home Carlisle and North lakes who were an amazing help for wife during a very difficult time also the Royal Marines Charity who offer life long support to the Royal Marines family veterans and serving.
As part of an international team we will ski over 200 mile from Norway to the Swedish border , starting with the final leg of the attack route in to Rjukan then proceed with the SOE team’s escape route to Sweden.
In reenancting this legendary WW2 long-range commando raid we will be crossing Europe’s highest plateau snowfields ,sleeping in snowholes and experiencing the odd night in the original huts the sabotage team used 80 yr ago.
My aim is to raise a min of £500 for each charity Hospice at Home Carlisle and Royal Marines Charity both who have helped so many families. If you would love to help me and support, any donations would be massively appreciated in caring for others in time of need .
