I've raised £500 to support our local District Nursing team, in memory of Steven Roper.

My darling Steven,
It is October 19th - your birthday - today. A milestone birthday, you would have been 70 years old.
I should be baking a cake. Our family should be gathering to celebrate. Our little grandaughters should be singing "Happy Birthday Bampi" all day. But sadly you're not here with us.
We lost you on the 5th of March, 2023, leaving a hole impossible to fill. Our hearts were broken, but we treasure every memory we have - and there are many. We remember your love of fishing, a proper Sunday roast, Poirot, and liquorice allsorts! You could be loud, funny, thoughtful, sometimes grumpy, but we know for sure you loved us all.
We are trying not to be sad today. Your baby girls are here talking to your photo saying "Bampi's gone fishing." They will be three in a few days. They almost arrived on your birthday, didn't they?
We want something positive to come from this special birthday, which is why we are asking our family, our friends, our work colleagues, your fishing buddies, to make a donation in your memory.
We are fundraising for the wonderful local District Nurses who cared for you for almost eight years on and off. For your last few months, they were in our home every day. You knew them all by name. They became friends, part of the family, and supported us through so much.
I know you would be proud of us.
"Gone fishing," but always in our hearts.
Love you always and forever, Jayne.
This is our tribute to you dad, written and recorded by Sam.
