I've raised £500 to Support the work of the Stevenage and North Herts Talking Newspaper (charity number: 1184417)

This Christmas the Stevenage Ladies Choir cannot raise funds for their chosen charity in the way we would usually like to. A "normal" Christmas would see us singing to two sell out audiences in one day to really maximise the fundraising as well as inviting local school choirs to come and share the stage with us.
Christmas 2020 has seen us trying to learn a completely new carol over the internet and then trying to record it and put it together. The accompanying video comprises of shots from our recording mixed with some pictures of past Christmas celebrations which we hope to be able to have again in the near future - Christmas celebrations in July anyone?!?!

Our chosen charity for this Christmas is the Stevenage and North Herts Talking Newspaper (charity number: 1185913).
The Stevenage and North Herts Talking News, is a free local service for blind or partially sighted people. If someone has difficulty reading and would like an audio recording of the local newspapers and national magazines.
Each week they post a flash drive containing recordings of articles from The Comet and The Royston Crow, along with a varied selection of magazines provided by the RNIB. The recipient listens to the content that interests them, and then they simply drop the flash drive into the post box in the envelope provided. No postage required. The programme runs with the assistance of volunteer readers.
