I've raised £1000 to give to the Community Hospital St Andrews, Stratheden Hospital, Cupar and Rymonth House, St Andrews

23 August
The fundraiser has remained open, and we have now raised £1,000! It is so thrilling to be involved with this wonderful effort, and I hope those who have contributed and followed it will also experience some of the joy associated with it.
Definite closing date is now midnight on Monday 24 August, in an effort to make the last of my pink hair finally disappear!
2 July 2020:
A big thank you to all who have contributed so far. Between us we have given £350 to the Lomond Ward in Stratheden Hospital, £350 to Rymonth House, and £200 for Ward 1 of the Community Hospital, via Fisher and Donaldson, a local bakery.
Lomond Ward were in the process of doing some improvements in the ward for the patients and were absolutely thrilled with the gift and with the timing. Rymonth House have bought outdoor activities and plants for their service users, who are adults with additional needs. As for Ward 1: do I need to say more than "Fisher and Donaldson" for people to lick their lips in understanding of the appreciation there!
The University Staff newsletter this week, 2 July, is running a piece on the fundraiser, and maybe we will even raise a little more before I finally close the appeal on 16 July.
Let's say thank you to our wonderful community hospital, to Rymonth House and to Stratheden psychiatric hospital! Let's help the staff and patients in some tiny way during the current Covid-19 crisis.
We have a wonderful community hospital here in St Andrews. There are two inpatient wards, one for rehab and one for palliative care. My mother was there as a patient for several weeks before her death in February 2019, and was superbly cared for, as were we, her family
This is my late mother in the hospital, with me and my puppy Chirpy.
With no visitors or volunteers during Corona Virus lockdown, the amazing staff are taking on so much extra and the patients are without family and loved ones..
In addition, my dog Chirpy is now a registered therapet and hopefully will be going up to the hospital again once volunteers can be readmitted.
