Story

The chair of Sussex Disability Football League (SDFL) Steve Atkins, will swap his football boots for walking shoes in June in a unique challenge to raise money for the league. Steve will attempt to walk over 100 miles in just three days taking in the home grounds of several Sussex Football Clubs on route. Steve hopes to share the league’s Pan Disability message of inclusion and equality whilst raising much needed funds.

Steve will start at Worthing Town Football Club and walk to neighbouring Worthing Football Club before heading north to Crawley Town, onto East Grinstead, south to the home of Seaford Town FC and west to the Amex, home of Brighton & Hove Albion. Steve hopes to eventually end up at the home of Sussex FA’s Headquarters, and where the SDFL holds its fixtures, at Culver Road, Lancing.

The aim is to finish in time to help set up the pitches for the final day of the season on Sunday 11th June.
