Story

UPDATE: Birdie's exploratory surgery didn't provide a clear diagnosis but saved her life. She is a completely different and happy cat now. Thanks to kind people and amazing vets, Monkey has had her surgery and is recovering super well. It was much more complex than expected but she is a little fighter and forever grateful to be saved. The change in them both is a miracle <3

Sadly Leo's surgery has had to be cancelled until we can find his £5000 lump sum. We're managing his pain as much as possible but he needs this specific surgery as an urgent priority. He has already been waiting since October for instant treatment. He has a specialist appointment for x-rays and pain management which will hopefully keep him comfortable until we can raise the lump sum on 4th March 2023.

This is being made impossible by my own illness, my other cat Birdie taking suddenly extremely ill, and Lola having just suddenly passed away. Every bit of help Leo gets is dependent on handing over instant lump sums of money now.

Please keep sharing and donating if you can. One is saved, and now heartbreakingly, two beautiful babies still need help. Thank you all so much.

Baby Leo is only 11 months old and was found in a bad way in a car park with his eyes infected. It had spread so badly that he had to have his eyes removed. He has not let this stop him and used to spend his days running around and playing with his best friend Lola, who I also recused with him. He is missing her terribly and very distressed as well as in pain. His mouth is full of a nasty infection and the expected solution is for a specialist vet dentist to remove all of his teeth, including the few healthy ones, to prevent it spreading. Sadly he is in a lot of pain which we are managing with medication as best as possible, although he is struggling to eat and going to the toilet outside of the box to show me something's wrong, but never makes a fuss. All he wants to do is hug us. His estimated referral surgery bill has been updated to over £5000.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Monkey and Leo have each had a traumatic past. With the help of gorgeous rescue charities I rescued them from the streets of Dubai. They are now the most affectionate little cats, eternally grateful for being saved, with nothing but love for humans despite everything. They both need urgent specialist dental surgery.

Little Monkey is only 2 years old yet has had many operations already, including spaying, tooth removal, a mesh in her stomach as she was found with her intestines hanging outside of her body, as well as a mystery lung infection last year which almost took her life and miraculously after intensive surgery she survived. She was unfortunately born with wobbly cat syndrome, as well as a deformed leg which eventually she will need amputated as she can't walk properly. Further surgeries are not recommended at all however, without this dentistry the infection will likely spread and she may not be able to eat at all. Her current condition will deteriorate fast. These special needs and her previous surgeries mean that she needs urgent specialist dentist surgery and extractions, with extra anesthetist care, and can't be helped in a regular vets. Her estimated referral surgery bill is £2500.

I am posting here to try and raise funds to help cover some of the costs of their upcoming emergency procedures. Special needs cats need specialist cat dental surgeons, and shockingly there are only handful in the country, only 1 of 3 who would even consider taking them on are able to help Monkey and Leo. The vets and referral vet specialists have been wonderfully kind, but can only perform the surgery with a lump sum on the day, and Monkey has the closest appointment available on the 24th November, Leo's appointment will be as soon as we can afford it in the next month and he is currently being placated on painkillers until I can gather his lump sum also.

As it is specialist complex mouth surgery they both need, there is no option of a payment plan so time really is running out for them. So far I have emptied my bank account trying to help them. I have money to help them but not the vast amount needed so quickly. This happened to sweet, healthy cats, out of the blue, and I have no time to save for this with no pet insurance possible due to their special needs. All surgeries come with risk, however these two have more risk than most and are depending on this.

Lack of time and same day lump sums mean we would be incredibly grateful for any help you can give my beautiful cats. If you can't donate, please share and if you can, consider becoming a vet dentist as they are desperately needed <3
