Charlie was born in 2010. He was a happy and healthy baby until around the age of 15 months when he began to slip away in to a silent and repetitive world. He lost all of his language and eye contact and would perform the same tasks over and over.

After 2 years of assessments Charlie was diagnosed with Autism. His parents were told he may never talk, may never be toilet trained or be able to show any affection.

Not wanting to believe his grim prognosis they began their own research and found The Son-Rise Program® which is a therapy that originated in the United States. The Son-Rise program advocates a loving and non-judgmental attitude and focuses on increasing social interaction rather than solely working on academics.

Charlie has now been in a part time Son-Rise program for the past two and a half years and he has transformed dramatically. He is now able to look at people and be around people. He is fully toilet trained and has started to communicate using single words. Above all this Charlie is happy and is starting to become the same little boy he was before the Autism.

Funds raised for Charlie's voice help his parents with the continuation of his Son-Rise Program. The money helps to pay for teachers to visit their home and work one on one with Charlie. For consultations with Son-Rise professionals, for further training and for training of volunteers who want to work with Charlie.
