Story

At the end of January, the longest distance I’d ever run was 5K. A planned 10K in May felt like a big enough challenge - plenty of time to build up gradually. But one Sunday, I pushed a little further and ran 7K. A few days later, I tried 10K, and realised I’d set the bar way too low. So, in impulsive and (perhaps foolish!) fashion, I did something ridiculous and signed up for the Colchester Half Marathon on March 16th instead!

But this isn’t just about proving something to myself. I’m running for Stepping Out for Carers, a cause close to our hearts at Mammoth. They give unpaid carers a chance to take a break, get outdoors, and find a community - something that’s so often missing when you spend your time looking after others.

We’ve had the privilege of rebranding their organisation and building their website, so I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference they make. Their latest project, Carers’ Lives in 100 Objects, is a deeply moving look at the personal stories behind caregiving, told through everyday items that hold special meaning.

This is their first fundraiser of this kind, and I’d love to help them raise as much as possible. If you can donate, big or small, it would mean the world. Let’s give carers the support they deserve!
