The Community Spirit group of the Stewarton Community Trust has recently taken on the responsibility of the Christmas lights in Stewarton. We have quite a tight timescale to sort out the logistics but more urgently we need to raise funds to ensure that we can cover any required outgoings e.g. storage, testing, repairs, installation etc. We understand that a majority of the lights are in good working order but there are several which will require to be either repaired or renewed. In the near future you will see some posters and collection tins strategically placed around the town. We have also applied for a number of grants which will help towards costs but it cannot be guaranteed that our bids will be successful at this stage.

The bottom line is that if we do not raise enough money then we will not have any lights in the town this Christmas. If we do raise enough money and we are successful in any of the grant applications then we will likely have enough for Christmas this year and next. Please support this cause and the Stewarton Community Trust will make it happen.
