Our village church is in need of your help! The tower is unsafe and water is pouring into the church. The tower roof needs work, the floors are rotting and the bells are in danger of being unable to be rung.

We thank St Florence village for your help for projects in the past, but this historic building is in desperate need again.

WE NEED YOUR HELP OR IT IS IN DANGER OF CLOSING!

Church members are delighted to have secured a grant for £115,100 but in order to access the grant, St Florence village community needs to contribute £14,326 by September 2018. A condition of the grant is to demonstrate that the church is important to the life of the whole community, not just church members.

Is the church important to you?

If this money is not raised, the grant will not be forthcoming and the church will close because the building will become dangerous.

There will be no services, christenings, weddings or funerals - just an unkept church and graveyard.

However, if we raise this money, we stand a good chance of having the church restored. St Florence has a population of 700 people, if we all contribute whatever we can, we really can reach our goal.

FAQ's

1. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY DONATED HERE? - St Florence Church isn’t a charity, so we have had to set up a crowdfunding page. The money raised here will be paid to me (Delyth Liddell) at the end of the fund raising period (September) and I will immediately transfer the funds to the St Florence Church bank account.

2. WHAT IF I WANT TO GIFT AID THE MONEY? - If you are able to Gift Aid, we would appreciate you doing that because the church will get more money than your actual donation. Please send a cheque payable to St Florence Church Roof Appeal and write your address on the back of the cheque so we can gift aid it. 3. WHAT HAPPENS TO MY DONATION IF YOU DONT MAKE THE TARGET AND THE CHURCH HAS TO CLOSE? - In the event of our not achieving our goal, all donations will be returned to the donor (where we can practically do that because the donor has given their name and contact details). All anonymous donations will pass to the general church fund.

4. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU EXCEED THE TARGET? - All funds raised for the church in excess of the target will go into general church funds for the ongoing upkeep of the building.
