    Story

This pair of wrought iron gates are at the entrance to the driveway shared by St James Primary Academy and St James the Greater Church on Pokesdown Hill, Bournemouth.

One of the gates has sustained damage (see title page) and both are in need of restoration. The hinge fixings are badly corroded and in danger of collapse.. The gates connect the two stone wing walls containing the World War Two memorial plaques and were erected in 1951.

Full restoration of these gates will provide a safe and attractive entrance for both Church & School..
