Story

In the current situation we are all sadly aware we can’t train or do PE together. Local charities are also struggling to raise funds. St Joseph’s GAA club and St Joseph’s Primary School have decided to create a collective exercise and fundraising goal.

Our aim is to raise £500 for the Ty Olwen Trust in Morriston

The Ty Olwen Trust works to relieve patients who are suffering from cancer and life limiting diseases. The Trust assists families and dependents, promotes and supports research and awards bursaries to enable nurses and other staff to undertake specialised training courses.

Our goal is cover the distance it would take to visit every GAA club in Gloucestershire and Wales. As Gloucestershire is a development county it encompasses teams as far away as St Piran’s, Truro in Cornwall and St Jude’s in Bournemouth. Hopefully when we come through this we’ll visit these places and play a bit of footy.

Collectively coaches, players, teachers, parents and pupils of Year 6 in St Joseph’s Primary will aim to walk, run, cycle, scoot and skateboard their way to each club. First to Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, then Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, Gloucester, Truro and finally Bournemouth. Total collective distance we hope to cover is 500 miles 800km

Each person to record their individual or family’s daily/weekly km’s covered during exercise in the park or in their garden.

Your support is much appreciated.
