I'm raising £5000 to go towards installing a kitchen servery and a toilet at St. John's church, Fishpond, West Dorset

Story

Fishpond is a small village for just 47 houses and one church nestling on the slopes of the Marshwood Vale, deep in rural West Dorset. The much loved St John's church, is the only community building in the village but it has no running water and no facilities.

Whenever the village has an event all the villagers carry everything that's needed for refreshments to and from home, including the water in Jerry cans and if needed they let visitors use their loos.

This has been just about doable until the summer of 2021 when the village hosted an Open Gardens Event that attracted over 1,000 visitors!

Afterwards, the villagers agreed enough was enough and since then this small community has been working hard raising funds and securing permissions to install facilities in their beloved church.

So far they have raised £45,000 out of the total of £85,000 needed for the work. We desperately need your help!

This fundraiser is to install a kitchen servery, run water into the church and to install a sealed composting toilet outside in the graveyard.

To have these facilities will make a MASSIVE difference to this isolated and wonderful community. Your help will be greatly appreciated!
