    Story

At St John's Meads, our aim is for every child to become a first class version of themselves. One of our key aims is to provide or impart an enthusiasm for the world beyond the classroom and a respect for others. Our school vision includes caring for the community, valuing ourselves and each other. Therefore, we will be taking part in a virtual fundraising event for the incredible Great Ormond's Street Hospital! Each year group 'bubble' will be taking part in a 2.5km race around our school field to raise money for this amazing charity!

Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive at Great Ormond's Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs. And every day is a chance for us to make a difference. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. They strive to create a better future for seriously ill children.

With many of the major fundraising events cancelled due to Covid-19, our fundraising for the virtual events is more important than ever! The money we raise will help to fund pioneering research into life-changing treatments, state-of-the-art technology that helps save young lives, vital patient family support services ad wellbeing services for GOSH's super hero staff! Money raised will also go towards the creation of a new child-focused surroundings at the hospital to help children feel safe and calm during their appointments and treatments.

At St John's Meads, we are so excited to be taking part in this amazing charity run and are so thrilled for the opportunity to support our community and those children in need. Thank you so much in advance for your donation and for supporting us with this sporting event!
