St. John the Evangelist Church has been at the heart of the community of Chopwell for over a century. Generations of families have celebrated and mourned their loved ones within the confines of its stone walls and many of us have laid to rest family members in the churchyard. 108 years since Chopwell became a parish in its own right our beloved church is in need of help! We are fundraising to make urgent repairs to St. John's which include electrical rewiring and the renovation of our church organ. Our parish church was originally built mainly by voluntary labour and was a true "Labour of Love" for the village, by the village.
