Simon Richards experienced the joy of making music and playing the violin, because it was an activity that he could take part in, making excellent progress. Simon suffered from Chronic Brittle Asthma and was very poorly, missing school and his friends. In Simons case, music helped him to be a part of a community of committed, passionate young people. He sadly passed away on 16 August 2015, aged 12. The money raised will go towards the Simon Richards award for young violinists.
