I've raised £10000 to bring a Judicial Review against the decision build a stand-alone Velindre centre on the green-fields of the Northern Meadows in Cardiff.

I’m raising funds to bring a challenge by way of Judicial Review against the decision to proceed with plans to develop a new Velindre Cancer Centre on the greenfield site of the Northern Meadows in Whitchurch, Cardiff.
Following a large donation from Save The Northern Meadows campaign, the aim now is to raise another £10k.
The Welsh Government has failed to take into account material considerations and make sufficient independent enquiries:
- when UHW2 was anticipated by CVUHB to be operational and the feasibility of including a co-located nVCC in that development
- whether it’s possible to establish “an oncology footprint” at UHW and other hospitals, as recommended by the Nuffield Trust
There should have been an independent clinical review led by the Senedd. This would have allowed proper consideration of the best available expert evidence and experiences to inform their decision.
Instead we‘re being fobbed off with a clinical model that at least 163 clinicians have voiced serious concerns over; that is out of date; that will cause irreparable damage to endangered species, will destroy an area of nature reserve, meadow and woodland; that will decrease air quality for our kids and mean disadvantaged residents of Hollybush suffering years of building and they’ll no longer have a green space for wellbeing and exercise.
