Story
As a community Stoke Goldington needs to raise £10,000 to buy new equipment for our village playground!
We are a little daunted about the job we are about to undertake, but we need to start somewhere & would appreciate any help you can offer!
We are hoping we can start the ball rolling by Crowdfunding... are you able to donate some money towards buying some new playground equipment? Do you work for a company that may want to contribute? Would your business like to buy the village a piece of playground equipment?
Our playground in Stoke Goldington is very old and dilapidated. Various broken equipment has been removed over the past few years but has not been replaced.
The Parish Council are not in a financial position to be able to buy new equipment, though fully recognise the need for the playground to be revamped. We are working with them to ensure that we are successful in providing the village with a fabulous facility.
It would be easy to spend a lot of money, however we believe by spending approx. £10,000 we could add to our existing playground providing the children with a playground to be proud of.
We are exploring all avenues to help raise the money required. We have a strong community & plan to hold some fundraising events, as well as see if we are eligible for any available grants. Our eligibility for grants as a village however is limited. We do not live close to a landfill to qualify for their grants, due to the fact we flood we are not even a developer's dream! We are also a distance away from various supermarkets that offer community grants, & there are a lot of projects within these towns that need help too that would be more high profile for these stores.
Our best chance is if we can raise some initial funds ourselves. Some of the grants available will match what we have raised, hence the reason for crowd funding. The more we can raise now, the less we have to fundraise later! £10000 is really not that much, if we all pull together!!!
