Denise has had a rough time of late... not only is she caring for her beloved husband John who is terminally ill with cancer, but a few months ago she lost her last good tooth!

However a few days ago something else happened to our lovely neighbours that compelled me to set up this JustGiving page. Thieves posing as water board employees talked their way into the home and stole a large amount of money, money that was to help pay for her husbands funeral.

As you can see from the picture John (on the right) was a large chap, an army drill sergeant, a proud and capable man, but now at the end he is only 6 stone in weight and bed ridden, however he still has enough fight that when he woke to find a strange man rifling through his room, he told him he was in trouble if he didn't get out! Unfortunately though, not in time to stop the thief finding a bag with cash inside.

The money, in excess of £10k, was not insured and as pensioners this loss will be devastating for them. They are proud people who would never ask for charity so I'm asking for them. I would replace it all myself if I could... but I can't... So come on internet! Don't let this final chapter of their marriage be scarred by the worst of humanity, let's show them the best of it!

There are so many injustices that we cannot set right, but here is one we can. If all of us give a little it will mean a whole lot!
