Protect Tring — Stop the 45% Housing Increase
Tring is under threat. Dacorum’s draft Local Plan proposes a massive 45% increase in our town’s size - far exceeding the Borough-wide average of 25%. There are 2,250 new houses planned for the Marshcroft and New Mill sites to the east of town and the Dunsley site near the A41.
Tring is being unfairly burdened, with Hemel-based Dacorum silencing our local councillors and pushing its housing targets onto our community.
This is our last chance to fight back. The Grove Fields Residents Association (GFRA) has appointed Varsity Town Planning to represent Tring during the Examination in Public (EiP) — a crucial process where the Local Plan’s future will be decided. The EiP is expected to begin in September 2025, and we need to act now to build a strong case.
It will take £20,000 to complete this work, and fund necessary reports on Highways and other infrastructure, including fresh and foul water provisions. Reaching a target of £60,000 would enable us additionally to hire planning barristers to arm us with legal advice and expertise for the Examination in Public.
Fighting this battle requires expert guidance, thorough research, and a relentless voice advocating for Tring. But we can’t do it alone. We urgently need your support to fund this fight and give Tring the representation it deserves.
Every donation counts. Whether you give £10, £50, or more, your contribution will help us cover essential costs as we prepare for the hearings. Together, we can challenge Dacorum’s plan and protect the character of our town.
