Protect Tring — Stop the 46% Housing Increase
Tring is under threat. Dacorum’s draft Local Plan proposes a massive 46% increase in our town’s size - far exceeding the Borough-wide average of 24%. There are 2,250 new houses planned for the Marshcroft and New Mill sites to the east of town and the Dunsley site near the A41.
Tring is being unfairly burdened, with Hemel-based Dacorum silencing our local councillors and pushing its housing targets onto our community.
This is our last chance to fight back. The Grove Fields Residents Association (GFRA) has appointed Varsity Town Planning to represent Tring during the Examination in Public (EiP) — a crucial process where the Local Plan’s future will be decided. Stage One of the EiP began in September 2025, and we need to act now to build a strong case for the next stage.
We have already successfully raised funds for the stage one Planning Consultants and for a report on Highways.
However, we still need £10,800 for a Planning Barrister and our Planning Consultant to review our case in advance of the Stage 3 hearing. We will then need another £10,000 to pay the Barrister to attend that hearing, so that we can present our case with the maximum impact.
Fighting this battle requires expert guidance, thorough research, and a relentless voice advocating for Tring. But we can’t do it alone. We urgently need your support to fund this fight and give Tring the representation it deserves.
Every donation counts. Whether you give £10, £50, or more, your contribution will help us cover essential costs as we prepare for the hearings. Together, we can challenge Dacorum’s plan and protect the character of our town.
Donate today — protect Tring’s future.
