Story
Until summer last year our school pool was in active use benefiting all our children, some who would never normally have the opportunity to swim. Unfortunately, our pool liner has split beyond repair, creating immense damage, and therefore the cost has become too high for our PTFA team to be able to raise enough money alone. At present the pool is in such disrepair, and it is a real shame to waste such an important local facility.
Both parents and teachers of our school believe that children living in coastal areas should know how to swim as a matter of safety and not just for the wonderful benefits of fitness and fun! Because of this the school had started to share the facilities with other local schools, so that they too could benefit from our pool at a reasonable low cost to all families of children attending the sessions.
The School and PTFA’s aim is to open the pool as a local community swimming pool, not just for our school and surrounding schools but for the neighbouring community. It was a wonderful life saving facility, which all our children benefited from without having to pay and travel for swimming lessons and could be again if we are able to raise sufficient funds.
