Story
In Luwatala most facilities - like toilets and water pumps - are communal. We are working with the community to provide soap for hand washing - along with buckets with taps for running water - to prevent any spread of corona virus. This is fairly expensive for a subsistence farmers so a little money from here goes a long way towards protecting the community in Malawi.
Your gift will help so much in Luwatala! Providing soap is such a simple thing to do yet provides some protection for the Parish Partnership villages in Malawi. I hope we can keep contributing towards continuing this resource as long as Covid-19 is in the region..
Young tailors have been learning to make masks to distribute to the community. Some of the money collected will go to support their work. They have currently produced over 400 masks.
Thank you for all your support - Luwatala are so encouraged to learn that there is somewhere in the world that cares what happens to them. They hold us in their prayers and some of their choirs are sending such beautiful songs of love and praise to share with us.

3 years agoCovid-19 case numbers are increasing rapidly in Malawi, even with rationed test kits the number of confirmed cases are now near 4,000. Several deaths now reported in near by Zomba. There is a need to maintain a supply of soap over the next few months as current supplies are depleted. The aim is to have soap at all communal points (water pumps and toilets) and to ensure the protection of the most vulnerable in the community. Please see the video which includes some to the choir music and photos of Luwatala; meet some of the community.

Each household has access to soap and the four zones (villages) have paracetamol. Now our task is to help maintain resources over the time when Covid-19 is in Malawi; to ensure that our friends feel as much protection and care as we can offer them.
