Story

Over 30 years ago an 18-year-old Oxted School student designed and built a play bus to go in the playground of a local primary school, St Peters School Tandridge, as part of his A Level design and technology exam. The bus has become iconic to the school, and can be seen very clearly by everyone walking or driving past. The Bus has been loved by many many children over the years but unfortunately after a lot of repairs it has now reached the end of the road and has had to be taken down as it is unsafe. We miss the bus very much and we are desperate to put the bus back where it belongs, especially as next year the school will be celebrating its 150th birthday.

This is where we hit a problem, we have had quotes from 3 companies quoting up to £5,000 to replace it, as a small village school of only 90 children there is no way we can raise that kind of money on our own and with educational budgets being cut we just haven’t got the money to put our wonderful bus back where it belongs,

So we are looking for business, organisations and parents of past, present and future pupils, that are willing to donate to our good cause, to help us reach our goal.

Many many thanks
