    Story

St Peter’s Church , Prestbury , Cheshire was built in 1220 , it is a Grade 1 listed building and has over the years been added to and changed . The clock on the church tower has been keeping time in the village for nearly 500 years , it was first recorded in the Church Wardens Accounts in 1580 . The timber dial on the clock requires major repair work or replacing and fund raising has recently started and we need your support so please help so that the “heart beat” of the village may continue well into the future .

The repair or replacement work requires the attention of specialist clockmaker craftsmen and there are few firms in Britain who are able and capable of doing this work to meet the strict standards that are required .

The cost of the work is in excess of £12000 , to ensure that this amenity continues to keep time for us all .

Great news , thanks to your generous support we have today with the cheques and donations received and with JustGiving reached the total of just over £8500 . This is wonderful but please spread the word as we need to raise over £12000 before the work on the clock dial can start , this is a team effort and we will get there together and keep our clock ticking . Once again many thanks to everyone .
