    Story

To raise funds for the Parish Building Project for the Church of the Good Shepherd site in Heswall Parish, six intrepid Parishioners (Jonathan Wilson, Sophia Nelson, Laura Wilson, Julie Draper, Jamie Shepherd and Adrian Evans) have signed up to complete a gruelling 'Tough Mudder' challenge that will take place at Cholmondeley Castle, Malpas, Cheshire on Saturday 9th September 2017. The 'StPoGS Mud Missionaries Team' will have to overcome some 20+ obstacles over a 12 mile course involving, as you probably guessed, a lot of mud. It is a challenge that tests mental as well as physical strength. The Team are being trained by fellow parishioner and local fitness guru Cheryl O'Malley who has generously provided her time (and kettle bells!) to ensure all are ready to participate. 'Tough Mudder' was co-founded by Will Dean, a former British counter terrorism officer, and Guy Livingstone, a former corporate lawyer. The obstacles often play on common human fears, such as fire, water, electricity and heights. As the saying goes, the day is 'not going to be a walk in the park' for the participants....
Please give generously and all involved thank you for doing so!

      Update from the Page owner

Dear Supporters, It was cold, it was muddy and the sheet rain just added to the 'atmosphere' but...... We are very pleased to report that it was a wholly successful mission by The Team and with chattering teeth, various 'sore' bits and mud finding its way into some rather unintended places, all members crossed the 10,000 Volt Shock finishing line relatively unscathed. Many Thanks for your generous donations and support! The Mud Missionaries Team b.t.w. cheques donated have yet to be added to the total - we will notify you of the final amount
