Strathdon Community Action Plan

https://cairngorms.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/160601StrathdonActionPlan.pdf

The Strathdon Community Development Trust (SCDT) was created to help the community and local groups take forward the strathdon community action plan and ideas for making the area a better place to live, work and visit. Please click on link above.

The Strathdon Community Development Trust is a limited company with charitable purposes. The Trust has just started the process of becoming a Charity. The Trust relies solely on donations and grants to carry out its vital role for the Strathdon Community.

Following the success and the wide use of the Braemar community webcam the Strathdon Community Development Trust installed a webcam at the snow gates on the Strathdon side of the Lecht. This is a project that the strathdon community, businesses and tourists are already greatly benefitting from.

Whilst the project installation was fully funded we have to cover the on going annual costs. Such as the 4G data contract and the electricity costs.

A donation of just £2 could help cover a few weeks webcam costs

A donation of just £5 could cover around a months webcam costs

A donation of just £10 could cover around 2 months webcam costs

A donation of just £60 could cover 6 months webcam costs or a community meeting at a local village hall

A donation of £120 Could cover around 12 months webcam costs or two community meetings at village halls

If we raise £300 in total this will ensure that we have covered the webcam running costs for 2.5 years and community meetings

The Strathdon Community Development Trust needs around £2k a year to continue its work. To run community meetings, to continue creating and renovating community footpaths, to fundraise for community projects to raise sustainable income for the Strathdon Community.

Strathdon Aberdeenshire

I have lived in Strathdon for over 15 years and a few years ago I was persuaded to get involved with the Strathdon Community Development Trust and joined the board. Strathdon is a beautiful place to live but it faces many challenges and I think the Trust can help with these.
