I've raised £3000 to Help fund a multi purpose sports track for Stratton school and the local community

Stratton Primary School, Bude, Cornwall is planning to create a multi purpose track for their pupils and local community.
Currently the children run daily around the school field come rain or shine. Unfortunately when the field is wet, it is not the ideal place for them to run.
Hence the reason for the track!
The plan is to create a low cost, low maintenance, hard wearing track that the pupils can run on in all weathers. This will not only benefit the current children but future generations as well as the public. The local community will have access to the track outside of school hours to use for running, walking or cycling.
Sadly, due to government cuts in Education, schools are not receiving the money they desperately need, let alone funding for extra sports facilities. Sports premium is used by schools for PE and sports, but sadly it cannot be used for this project which is why we are raising funds to build a track.
We believe this will give opportunities to everyone: exercise is not only good for our physical health but its well known for being fantastic for our mental health. In this day and age of technology, its vital children have a connection to nature and a positive mental attitude to exercise.
If we can build an area that is accessible for all we can help to achieve this.
The aim in future would be to add a sports pavilion so the facility can be used by local running and cycling groups, hired for parties and many more events.
We live in a great town with a fantastic spirit of community, so please show your support and donate whatever you feel able too!
