Weʼve raised £100 to have an app made for use by high rise residents, so that they can easily carry out an audit of the fire safety in their own tower blocks

- Funded on Thursday, 26th October 2017

Stretford House (pictured) is a 23 storey block that's fifty years old and has a single escape staircase. I live on the eighth floor, I'm Chair of the residents association and I'm a former Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Fire Safety Officer.
Naturally, when I witnessed those frightening scenes from GrenFell Tower I sought reassurance from our landlords at Trafford Housing Trust.
What I found shocked and horrified me.
This fund will be used to build a free app for residents here at Stretford House and in high rise blocks all over the UK.
The free smartphone app will guide them through a thorough check of the fire safety facilities in their building.
