Strive Cafe
Strive Cafe opened in Bexhill-on-Sea in early December 2019. The cafe provides paid employment to individuals with learning disability alongside offering a first-rate customer café experience and promoting positive values towards disability.
We believe that adults with learning difficulty and disability deserve the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential and lead fulfilling lives. The staff with learning disability are at the heart of everything. In all respects the café is designed around the staff and to meet their individual needs.
Strive Cafe opened in December 2019 offering a warm welcome and delicious food. 100% of reviews are Five Star to date with positive comments on the staff, food, venue and vision. The cafe and one of our learning disability assistants featured on ITV news! We now employ 5 staff with additional needs, and within a month have been approached by more than 30 local individuals with learning disability requesting a job.

To provide more disability employment opportunities, the next step is to develop the facilities. We are raising funds to refurbish the two further rooms, courtyard and toilet. Development plans will increase seating capacity allowing more customers and enabling us to host functions and become a hub for the community.

100% of funds raised will be spent on renovating the facilities that have excellent potential but require electricity, flooring and redecoration. We also welcome good quality 2nd hand equipment.
