£1,440raised of £2,500 target by 26 supporters

Weʼve raised £1,440 to CHANCES fundraiser mini festival party event in aid of younger stroke survivors where proceeds will be split to 3 charities.

    Oxford, UK
Funded on Saturday, 24th November 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

After suffering a stroke at 34 which changed things for me and made my whole life focus on rehab and working hard to recover I have discovered how little support there is for younger and working age stroke survivors. And the support there is is incredibly hard to access or fund. It seems expected to do it all privately when chances are you won't be able to work.
Systems in place are just not working for younger survivors and it's very hard to get the access to long term support and rehab.
The help.available seems to come from Charities and causes that are largely self funded and I want to give something back to 3 charities who have had a huge positive impact on my life.
I'm working hard to try and change this and raise awareness but in a positive and fun way. So what better way a fundraiser than to have a party! And I love music and festivals and have missed out a bit on this so decided to organise a mini festival. And if all goes well this may be a more regular annual event!

Unfortunately to pull off an event like this deposits need to be made so I am trying to raise money to help with these deposits from donations and also looking for sponsors which will then allow the tickets to be sold and then money raised will go to support younger and working age stroke survivors.

I would be grateful for any support in this venture.

Below is a link to my story which gives more background on why I am doing this fundraiser.

Even a small donation would make a big difference to the fundraiser.

We are keeping this page open for a few more weeks as there are lots of messages asking where people can donate and we have lots of donations waiting on so think it's the easiest way. Thank you to everyone who donated to help cover some of the costs of this event. It was a huge success and we all loved it
